Devi Chandraghanta is an avatar of Goddess Durga. The crescent moon is decorated on her forehead. There were snakes around his neck. There were ghosts, ascetics, ganas, ghouls, and agoras in his marriage procession. In the form of Chandraghanta, she prayed to Lord Shiva to take the form of a handsome prince and transform the marriage procession into a noble one.
Goddess Chandraghanta is the married form of Goddess Parvati. After Mahagauri marries Lord Shiva she started adorning half Chandra on her forehead. Hence, she is known as Goddess Chandraghanta. She is worshipped on the third day. Parvati took the terrorizing form of Chandraghanta. Everybody was in a state of shock.
