Sama ke chawal Uttapam Ingredients
1 cup Vrat ke Chawal or sama ke chawal (barnyard millet)
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 green chilli, crushed or chopped
2 tbsp freshly chopped coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Sama ke chawal Uttapam Method
Wash and soak vrat ke chawal for 2-3 hours.
Drain the water from it.
Grind the soaked chawal in grinder into a fine paste like the dosa batter.
Add cumin seeds, chopped chillies, coriander leaves and salt to the battar. Mix well.
Heat the skillet, pour the laddle of batter and make small sized uttapams.
Drizzle some oil and cover the lid and let it cook on medium flame till base is cooked well.
Flip the uttapam and cook it from the other side.
Serve hot with aloo ki sabji or vrat ki green chutney.
You can top the uttapam with chopped tomato and chilli.
Rock salt or sendha namak can be used instead of regular salt.
